Welcome to hmmwvsystems.com

We started this website to document issues with repair, maintenance, and restoration of the various HMMWV (or HUMVEE®) vehicles. All information provided on this website is our own findings and opinions, please conduct your own research to verify and confirm applicability of our information to your situation.

Available information on HMMWV vehicles is both scant and severely out-of-date. This website attempts to identify currently available parts, upgrades, or substitutions based on NSN identification or manufacturer numbers provided in existing documents.

Vehicles, both on-road and off-road, have an amount of risk involved, and the manufacturer of these vehicles makes it clear that they prohibit use of genuine Hummer® and HUMVEE® parts on privately owned vehicles or government agencies not specifically authorized by them.

The manufacturer further notes that “The federal government requires HUMVEEs® to be built to military specifications that do not meet all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards, including occupant protection requirements. In a collision, they may pose a greater risk of severe injury or death than a vehicle intended for the general public.”  See this post
